GREEN EVENTS
FESTIVALS & MUCH MORE
The Haleiwa Farmers Market and TR3EES have partnered on Oahu’s first truly “GREEN” market. All food vendors are required to use bio-compostable eat and drink wares, there are no plastic bags, and a ZERO WASTE Station to sort and divert waste from the landfills. Since April 5, TR3EES and HFM have diverted over 200 gallons of food waste to pig farmers and composters. Another 1500 gallons of would be Styrofoam and plastic was replaced with bio-compostables. Market goers are now accustomed to sorting their trash, bringing their own bags, and hopefully have gained knowledge on how they can divert their waste at home. TR3EES and HFM continue to work towards higher goals, and look forward to continuing to bring farmer direct produce to the residents and visitors of the North Shore. For more information on the green initiatives of HFM and TR3EES, please contact us or the Haleiwa Farmers Market www.haleiwafarmersmarket.com.
